 Sharon has been the Executive Director of Dairy Producers of New Mexico since January 4, 1994.  Dairy Producers of New Mexico (DPNM) is a trade organization for dairymen in New Mexico and West Texas.  DPNM is the only one of its kind in New Mexico.  DPNM works closely with other western states dairy associations on national issues as well as other New Mexico agricultural associations on New Mexico agricultural issues.  Sharon is the liaison for grassroots dairymen on all levels of government.  She deals with public policy and regulatory issues as well.

Sharon grew up on her family’s dairy farm in western New York.  In 1999, she was inducted into the Sam Steel Society at New Mexico State University as an Honored Alumna of the College of Agriculture and Home Economics.  She is a 2002 graduate of Leadership New Mexico.  She is a member of the Roswell Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee as well as Board member for the Association of Commerce and Industry.  Sharon was appointed by Governor Richardson as co-chair of the Agriculture Transition Team as well as the Search Committee for the Secretary of Agriculture.  In 2006, she was honored as the New Mexico Outstanding Leader by NMSU’s College of Agriculture and Home Economics.  Sharon was named a New Mexico Power Broker in October, 2007, and as a Statewide Power Broker in 2009 by the New Mexico Business Weekly.
