KEDU Radio - "On the Air!"
Station replaces transmitter after damage,
Seeking donations for replacement transmitter

November 23, 2007 - Updated 12-11-2007

 (
KEDU - Ruidoso, NM) - "Do you hear what I hear,"
was the first song that aired today, as KEDU returned to the airways, after several anxious days of being off-the-air. The station utilized another  "loaner" transmitter that took the place of their main transmitter, while arrangements were being made for purchase and shipment for a new transmitter. The station has been broadcasting at just twenty percent power of it's allotted power.

"The Dove", (Christian Community Radio, KEDU-FM 102.3 & 94.7FM) returned to the airways, at 3:00pm Friday." said station program director, Harv Twite. "We have plenty to give thanks for today. We are very grateful to all who have been praying for us, and to those who are helping to donate towards the cost of the new transmitter. We know money is tight, and finances are always tight during the Holiday season. We are so blessed to be involved in this Community. We thank all of you for supporting our mission in Lincoln County."

Twite said that the station has received about $1850 in donations so far, towards the $5,000 needed to pay for the transmitter and engineering fees. A company in Colorado agreed to ship the transmitter, and let the station have thirty days to pay for it.

"We are delighted to be back on the air today, with our annual commitment to being the Community's "Christmas Music Station." We just got started a few hours later than planned. Praise the Lord."
